🌍 Conservation Status: Native to Paraguay and southern Brazil river systems. Not formally listed as threatened, but wild populations face pressure from habitat loss and over‑collection. Actions regarding the harvest number along with no fish zones have been implemented in the commercial tourism collection sector to help protect the native populations where our fish are sourced from.
