The Black Venezuela Cory Catfish () is a stunning fish with its sleek, deep black body and mild iridescence, some specimines will have  lighter markings along its body.  These fish typically grow to about 2 to 2.5 inches (5-6 cm) in length. Its  dark armored body, and  a set of barbels near its mouth, makes them efficient bottom foragers and scavangers. 
 
Natural Habitat
Native to slow-moving streams and rivers of Venezuela, this species is found in soft, slightly acidic to neutral water with a PH range of 6.0 - 7.5 on the high side, along with temperature ranges around 72-79°F / 22-26°C.  Well planted tanks with plenty of hiding spots along with driftwood, leaf litter, Smooth rocks and smooth substrate are ideal for these fish.  
 
Behavior and Tank Compatibility
The Black Venezuela Cory ia a peaceful and adventurous bottom dweller . They are best kept in groups of at least 6, 8 is even better,  for schooling and natural  behavior.  These gentle, non-aggressive fish make them suitable companions for a wide variety of community fish, and are an effect clean up crew, not know to skip meals either.
